We had some great submissions for the last challenge, and it was quite tough to choose the winners! If you haven’t already been there, head over to Runway Inspired Challenge to find out who made it to the winners list.
This week we have a super star guest designer; one of the best CAS designers out there…it’s Milie Belles herself!!
and we have another fun outfit to inspire us:
Black and hot pink? Striking! There are so many possibilities with this one.
Given the satin skirt, I wanted to use some satin ribbon. I had a lot of different design ideas, but for me if there is ribbon, it has to be a wedding themed card! So in the end I settled with this card:
I made the ring by cutting three rings out of silver metallic paper (they are very thick paper) and stacking them together. I applied Glitz stardust glitter on top using a regular tape runner.
As for the diamond, at first I had cut out one freehand (stacked and glittered in a similar fashion), but after taking some pictures I realized something looked odd. The diamond was too small/narrow compared to the ring! and it definitely did not have the “ideal” cut. So then I Google searched for diamond cuts and found an image comparing different cuts. I printed out the ideal cut and used it as template to make my diamond 🙂
The sentiment is embossed in silver. And the ribbon, well, it is really simple; just two pieces holding on to each other!
I would like to share another one of my cards inspired by this outfit. Here I didn’t use ribbon, and the background was inspired by the pattern on the floor.
The chevron arrow is supposed to be pointing to the inside. Just a note, I used my Xyron machine to apply even adhesive on a piece of paper, which I used to apply the glitter on. I stacked the right heart on some thicker card stocks.
I hope you can join us this week, for we were quite blown away by your submissions at the last challenge!
Our sponsor this time is Ellen Hutson and the winner will get a $25 gift car to her online store.
