CASE Study #156

Hello there friends!

At CASE Study we are launching the September challenges with a new muse; Kathy Racoosin from The Daily Marker! If you have seen her work before, you would know she is a Copic expert. Time to get those Copics out and start coloring! If you don’t have Copics, no worries, you can intemperate her work in any way you like.

We also have a new month long guest designer. Welcome aboard, Amber Hight!

Here is the inspiration for this week:

I was inspired to use Copic markers and color in a similar way that Kathy colored. I also wanted to CASE the button. However, as I started stamping and coloring, I couldn’t find a way to incorporate a button into the card, so I left it as is:

I used a retired Stamin’Up! set called Fabulous Florets. Starting with the big flower on the left I masked and stamped my way on each side. The Copic markers used were: R30, R32 and R35. It was quick and easy as there wasn’t much blending. The “thank you” is from a stampin’Up Hostess set called Because I Care.

Back to the button adventure. Originally I wanted to use a cool extra large button that I had purchased a while ago. I couldn’t find it, instead, I saw a whole bunch of flairs that I had purchased from Bossy Joscie and never used! and here was an opportunity to use them. After much arranging and rearranging, this card was born:

The pearl embellishment is a stamp from Inkadinkado Circles and dots that I first stamped with antique linen and covered with dots of liquid pearl. After first stamping in gray I realized that the color of the ink matters on the final look. While this one has a warm glow, the other had a cool grayish look.

Please stop by the CASE study blog to see how the rest of the design team were inspired!

Thanks for stopping by!
